The brief: Transform a field into a contemporary garden to match the bold zinc and glass exterior of the house. A large formal pond, seating areas, a large shed, a productive garden, and an informal wilder area of garden.

Stone was sourced to match the path the builder had created,  so the new terrace and edging for the pond blended seamlessly. The large pond was designed with two layers of planting shelves, and a welded butyl liner to accommodate the formal square shape. Decking and a fine lawn create areas to sit and enjoy the pond. height was introduced though the series green oak arches over the path, which leads through the formal areas of the garden to the vegetable garden and wilder area beyond.  Tall shrubs and a beech hedge help to define the different area within the garden.
